Following the same concept, the #cretefromhome video reminds viewers of Crete’s natural beauties, museums, archaeological sites and culture, and invites potential travelers to visit the island after the ease of the COVID-19 travel restrictions. “The website was created with the aim to share with you the Crete that you love. Because tomorrow must find us strong and prepared,” Crete Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis said. The new website gives internet users the opportunity to discover, explore, taste and experience the island’s sites and cultural heritage through high-quality photos and videos from the comfort of their home. “To the millions of Crete’s visitors and to those who are planning a trip to our island, we wish to say that Crete is the place you should visit, the island that calls you to return… [In the meantime], we stay home and promise that Crete is here, ready to welcome you,” the island’s governor added. The #cretefromhome website will be constantly updated with new material provided by local bodies and cultural organizations. Visit the website here.
