The Municipality of Elafonissos, a tiny island located south of the Peloponnese, has launched a new promotional campaign targeting Greek and foreign experiential travelers.

Under the motto, “Chosen by Nature”, the new campaign highlights the island’s natural heritage, unique sites and quality services, and focuses on nature lovers that seek tranquility when on holiday. Elafonissos is also a designated marine NATURA site.

“We have developed an integrated program that will enable us to approach our [source] markets. This program will be gradually implemented in order to help us secure our market share in the next tourism seasons,” Elafonissos Mayor Efi Liarou said.

The Mayor also underlined that Elafonissos was taking careful steps to meet the challenges of the 2020 summer season – amid the COVID-19 pandemic – and ensure the safety of its guests.

“Our program has been adjusted to the new circumstances and the current travel demand,” she said.

Elafonissos’ tourism strategy was developed in collaboration with travel and tourism consultants MTC Group.
