Covid-19 The Day After – efforts and initiatives Greece Doing ‘Everything in its Power’ to Bring Britons Back After Covid-19 by GTP editing team 8 May 2020 written by GTP editing team 8 May 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 14 Greece is doing “everything in its power” to make sure British travelers return for their summer holidays once the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic subsides, said Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis in an interview to UK daily The Telegraph. The minister said that Greece was working to find ways to enable safe travel for its second largest source market “if not in July perhaps in August”, and at the same time keep visitors, tourism professionals and Greek destinations safe. In this direction, he said, Greek authorities were cooperating with their British counterparts to find ways to carry out Covid-19 tests ahead of air travel. Theoharis underlined the need for the British government to make these tests available to the public and expressed his hope that scientists will come up with more accurate and less costly options. It should be noted, that earlier this week, London’s Heathrow Airport announced plans to test run new technologies that reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission in efforts to devise a uniform health screening standard to be implemented at airports worldwide. “The aim of the collective measures being trialed is to reduce the risk of contracting or transmitting Covid-19 while traveling,” the airport said in an announcement.
