A small island located in the Cyclades, Amorgos is known for its unique nature, traditional architecture and tranquil environment. However, according to Deputy Mayor for Tourism Popi Despotidi, it is Amorgos’ rich culinary tradition that makes travelers “fall in love” with the island. Photo Source: @Municipality of Amorgos In the new video, Rafaela Roussou, a member of the island’s tourism committee, and local resident Margarita Petkidou, show viewers how to prepare, cook, serve and enjoy Amorgos’ traditional cheese pies. “In this period of self-isolation, while waiting for travel to restart, our recipes are the best thing to share with our future travelers,” Despotidi said. This is the second gastronomy video released by the Municipality of Amorgos, as part of its efforts to send a message of optimism amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and attract travelers.
