The Social Foundation of the Grimaldi Group is actively supporting Greece’s efforts to curb the Covid-19 pandemic by donating 100,000 euros for the purchase of medical equipment for the University General Hospital of Heraklion on the island of Crete.

Through Minoan Lines, its Greek subsidiary, and CEO Antonis Maniadakis, the Grimaldi Group is supplying Greece’s national health system with two gastroscopes and a colonoscope compatible with the ELUXED video processor for the hospital in Heraklion.

The Grimaldi Foundation was established in 2007 by the Grimaldi business family in Naples, Italy, to develop humanitarian actions and programs of social solidarity and financial support.

On its part, Minoan Lines announced that it was donating 15,000 euros to the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research & Technology for the supply of medical technological equipment to support the efforts of Greece’s hospitals against the pandemic.

The passenger shipping company is also offering a 50 percent ticket discount to the ICU medical staff of Greece’s 13 Covid-19 referral hospitals. The special discount is valid on tickets for the Piraeus – Crete line (Chania or Heraklio).

“Minoan Lines has proved that it stands by those who fight daily to protect public health, and contributes to the enhancement of Greece’s healthcare system and the work of relevant bodies in order for the country to win this battle,” the company said.
