KLM has launched a new video series on social media titled “Holland at Home”, aiming to offer a unique virtual travel experience to its future passengers.

The airline invites internet users to use their headphones for a unique 8D sound experience and enjoy some of Holland’s most wonderful places from the comfort and safety of their home.

“For over a hundred years it’s been our passion to fly you to the most beautiful places in the world. However, under the current circumstances, we’re not able fly you everywhere. That’s why we’ve decided to bring a piece of our homeland to you,” the carrier says.

KLM’s first virtual travel experience offers a trip to the beautiful spring garden of Keukenhof. A small group of cameramen was granted exclusive access to the park, where it recorded a collection of unique images and sounds.

The videos also aim to showcase the arts and culture of Holland. “We hope to be able to support this sector which has suffered a major blow due to the current crisis,” KLM Media Director Martine van der Lee said.

KLM is gradually restoring its European network by resuming daily service to eight extra destinations including Madrid, Rome and Prague. Its target for May is the resumption of 15 percent of its flights, compared to the period prior to the Covid-19 outbreak.
