The Culture Ministry has released a video that highlights some of Greece’s symbolic archaeological sites, to mark their reopening on May 18.

The video offers a virtual tour around Greece’s most significant ancient locations, including the Acropolis and Keramikos in Athens, Ancient Olympia, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Delphi, Amphipolis and Dilos.

It also features the poem “Just a Little More”* by renowned Greek poet Giorgos Seferis.

Greece’s archaeological sites remained closed for almost two months as part of a nationwide lockdown imposed in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, the ministry said it will be imposing strict measures that include social distancing rules, the use of antiseptics and the disinfection of areas with antibacterial products on a daily basis.

After the opening of archaeological sites, the ministry plans to resume the operation of open-air cinemas on June 1 and museums on June 15.
