Air Travel Emirates Resumes Passenger Flights to Nine Destinations by GTP editing team 18 May 2020 written by GTP editing team 18 May 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 14 Emirates has announced plans to operate scheduled flight services from May 21 to nine destinations: London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Chicago, Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne. The airline will also offer connections in Dubai for customers travelling between the UK and Australia. Travellers will only be accepted on these flights if they comply with the eligibility and entry criteria requirements of their destination countries. This includes an approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) for UAE residents who wish to return to Dubai. In addition to the scheduled services, Emirates said it will continue to work closely with embassies and consulates to facilitate repatriation flights for visitors and residents wishing to return home. Health and safety According to Emirates, the safety and wellbeing of passengers and employees is the company’s top priority. In preparation for the resumption of flight services, the airline has enhanced various precautionary measures against Covid-19 throughout the customer journey. Protective barriers have been installed at check-in desks for additional safety reassurance to passengers and employees during interaction over the counter. At Dubai International airport, customers and employees will have their temperatures checked via thermal scanners. Social distancing protocols will also be implemented. At the airport, this includes physical indicators being placed on the ground and at waiting areas to ensure travellers maintain a safe distance. For health and safety reasons and to minimise interaction on-board, Emirates will offer a modified in-flight service that focuses on reducing contact and infection risk. Emirates has also initiated a stringent safety program to ensure aircraft cabins remain clean and sanitary.
