Speaking during the videoconference of the Quadrilateral Summit of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia, the Greek PM underlined that Greece once again is expecting visitors from the Balkan countries “who honor us every year”. Discussions during the summit focused on the exchange of experiences on tackling the Covid-19 crisis and ways to normalize cross-border tourism and transport, two sectors that have been severely affected by the health crisis and are critical factors for the economic recovery of the countries in the region. According to the PM’s press office, during the videoconference, particular focus was placed on the mutual lifting of the current Covid-19 restrictive measures to facilitate travel of businessmen, workers and tourists. The meeting was also attended by the Greek ministers of foreign affairs, Nikos Dendias; health, Vassilis Kikilias; tourism, Harry Theoharis; the deputy minister of civil protection, Nikos Hardalias; and the health ministry’s spokesperson for the coronavirus, professor Sotiris Tsiodras.
