According to the legislation, which also includes terms for the development of diving tourism and shoreline use, penalties for failure to implement health protocols at tourism-related businesses will range from 500 euros to 5,000 euros and will include the suspension of the violator’s operations for up to 90 days. Local and regional police and port authorities will be responsible for ensuring that legislation and health measures are applied. According to sources, the new health protocols for the safe operation of hotels during the post-Covid-19 period will be released next week. Referring to the legislation on Thursday, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said the terms and conditions outlined were targeted at ensuring the safety of travelers, hosts and employees as well as providing a framework of operations for businesses in the post-Covid-19 era.
