Hosted by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and attended by the prime ministers of Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic, Greece, Australia, New Zealand and Israel, the third exchange of views mainly involved the leaders discussing that the results from the first weeks of restarting economic activity are positive, as the number of new coronavirus cases remains low. They also noted that there has been no epidemiological outbreak, although the Covid-19 virus has not been eliminated. According to the leaders, the reopening of schools at all levels of education is also progressing well. However, the leaders stressed that the good epidemiological picture should not lead citizens to relax in terms of maintaining social distancing and taking individual protection measures. While discussing the resumption of safe flights, PM Mitsotakis briefed his counterparts on Greece’s plan to open flights to Athens on June 15 for visitors from countries with similar epidemiological data, following the sampling tests strategy. The teleconference was attended by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and the Prime Ministers of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Norway Erna Solberg, Czech Republic Andrej Babis, Australia Scott Morrison, New Zealand Jacinda Arhuaminj and Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. The previous discussion of the Smart Covid-19 Management Group was held on May 7.
