Alitalia has announced that it will resume its service from Rome Fiumicino to Athens International Airport (AIA) with one daily flight next month.

The Italian airline will fly to and from Athens from Rome as of July 1. The Rome-Athens-Rome route is one of the many that the Italian airline will relaunch in July.

During next month, Alitalia will operate over 1,000 weekly flights to 13 domestic and international airports: Amsterdam, Athens, Boston, Malta, Nice, Tel Aviv, Tirana, Tunis and in Italy Brindisi, Florence, Lampedusa, Pantelleria and Reggio Calabria.

The airline will operate 60 percent more flights compared to June and double the number of its services compared to May. Alitalia aircraft will fly on 52 routes (22 more than June) to 37 airports, including 19 in Italy and 18 abroad. Seats offered in July will grow by 60 percent compared to the previous month.

The Alitalia flight schedule in July will mainly include the reopening of international air services from Milan and the increase of international flights from Rome, as well as the increase of services from Northern Italy to Southern Italy and the Italian islands.

All of Alitalia’s passenger flights are operated with reduced aircraft capacity, in order to comply with the provisions of the Italian law on social distancing on board aircraft.

Moreover, Alitalia’s aircraft are sanitized with high-powered sanitizing products every day and, thanks to HEPA filters and vertical circulation, the air on board is 99.7 percent pure as it is in a sterile medical room.
