The Tourism Awards recognize Greek tourism’s best practices and most innovative initiatives launched by Greece’s enterprises. The event’s 2020 edition saw the company win a gold award in the Guest Service Excellence category and a silver award in the Yachting Tourism category. Active for more than 10 years, Caldera Yachting offers yachting services on the island of Santorini, and also supports local initiatives and activities that promote the island’s development, social responsibility, healthy standards and sports events. “These two significant distinctions show our commitment to excellent customer service,” Caldera Yachting CEO Giannis Matthaios said. Matthaios also referred to this year’s extraordinary conditions for the tourism sector due to Covid-19. “The company will continue to serve its vision and values and the next day will find us even stronger,” he added. Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis sent a message to the winners and congratulated them for managing to stand out and maintain the high quality of Greek tourism. “The best, special and innovative [companies] guide us in times of uncertainty and darkness,” he said. Caldera Yachting has won a number of distinctions in Greece and abroad. In 2017, it was honored as the “Charter Company of the Year – Global Award Winner” by the Luxury Travel Guide Awards. In late 2018, Caldera Yachting won the silver award in the “Best In Luxury” category at the International Travel & Tourism Awards 2018, an initiative of WTM London. In 2019, it was again among the candidates for the award.
