Company updates Kythnos Hiking to Resume Walking Tours on July 13 by GTP editing team 30 June 2020 written by GTP editing team 30 June 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 Alternative tourism company Kythnos Hiking is ready to welcome Greek and European walkers back to the island of Kythnos as of Monday, July 13, when it resumes its walking tours in the post-Covid-19 period. According to the company’s manager Nigel Tutt, all health protocols in the hotels, bars and taverns on the island are operating smoothly and effectively. “We believe mask-free walking with at least 2-metre separation is safe, based on industry guidelines, while visits to bars and taverns will require 1-metre social distancing and masks when not eating or drinking,” Nigel says. Aiming to bring its audience closer to its activities, Kythnos Hiking is offering updated slideshows on its website. Visitors will find its latest walk to the ruins of the Byzantine Kastro Orias on a headland and its afternoon activities for sea kayak and snorkeling. “July and August will be hot and walking will aim to start early, finish at end-afternoon, and take a long midday pause for optional water sports,” Nigel informs. For those living in Greece, access to Kythnos is easy via ferries from the ports of Piraeus and Lavrio. The ferries from Lavrio take less than two hours; from Piraeus about three hours and a half. Booking is available up to the end of October on www.kythnoshiking.com. For further information e-mail Nigel at tuttnigel@hotmail.com.
