The Metaxa Hospitality Group recently welcomed over 150 German tour operators, travel agents and journalists to its Creta Maris Beach Resort in Hersonissos on the island of Crete.

The fam trip was held on the day that Greece opened to tourism, when the first international flights arrived at the country’s regional airports.

It was organized as part of the group’s efforts to actively contribute to the recovery of Greek tourism in collaboration with leisure airline Condor, the Association of Cretan Tourism and Travel Agencies (ACTTA) and the Quality Travel Alliance (QTA).

Metaxa Hospitality Group CEO Andreas Metaxas said: “We are very happy to welcome our good partners from Germany. We are also ready to welcome old and new friends. This summer is different. We focus on the health of our guests with the implementation of health protocols, always aiming to offer high-quality services. We strongly believe that we can respond to the challenges and achieve many more victories for Cretan tourism.”

To honor its guests, the group held a formal dinner that was attended by Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and Crete Governor Stavros Arnaoutakis. A workshop that focused on issues related to the restart of Greek tourism and the operation of hotels also took place.

The Metaxa Hospitality Group has reopened its hotels on the islands of Crete and Santorini for the 2020 summer season.
