Part of Air France’s 2020 summer program, the route began on July 15 and will operate until August 29. “We welcome the decision of Air France-KLM to reconnect Thessaloniki with Paris in a period of unprecedented difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said George Vilos, Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at Fraport Greece, the manager of Thessaloniki airport. Flights depart from Paris at 7.10am (local time) and arrive in Thessaloniki at 11.10am on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The return flight leaves Thessaloniki airport at 12.20pm to reach the French capital at 2.30pm. “We remain optimistic that the market’s dynamics, the city’s diverse tourism profile and positive development prospects will contribute to the success of this project and justify the decision of Air France to invest in Thessaloniki,” he added. Photo Source: @Thessaloniki Travel On his part, Air France-KLM Regional Director for Greece, Cyprus and Turkey Yiannis Pantazopoulos referred to the significance of the Greek market for Air France – KLM and confirmed that the group has undertaken all the necessary measures to ensure the highest levels of health and safety for its passengers and crew. Safety measures From May 11, all Air France passengers are required to wear a face mask throughout their journey. To ensure the highest level of health and safety, the airline implements temperature checks on departure from all its flights. The systematic checks are carried out with contactless infrared thermometers. Air France also implements physical distancing on board where possible, has reinforced its daily aircraft cleaning procedures and introduced a specific procedure for disinfecting aircraft. In addition, the airline informs that the air in its cabin is renewed every 3 minutes. The air recycling system on board Air France aircraft is equipped with “High Efficiency Particulate Air” or HEPA filters, identical to those used in hospital operating theatres.
