Following the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic – that forced the aviation group to ground most of its aircraft – and the lifting of travel restrictions worldwide, the Lufthansa Group has restarted travel to Greece with a total of 152 weekly itineraries. The Lufthansa Group now offers 60 weekly flights from/to Athens, 17 weekly flights from/to Thessaloniki and 73 weekly flights from/to the Greek islands. The group’s summer itineraries include Mykonos, Santorini, Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, Kalamata, Samos, Kos and Karpathos, with flights departing from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Geneva and Brussels. The group has adopted thorough health protocols onboard the aircraft and on the ground to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew. “From the very first day, we have taken all the necessary measures to ensure the maximum possible safety on our aircraft. We welcome passengers back on our flights, and extend our timetable to meet the growing passenger traffic,” said Konstantinos Tzevelekos, General Sales Manager of the Lufthansa Group in Greece and Cyprus. The group plans to further expand its flight program, with the aim to better serve leisure and business travelers. “We are significantly enhancing our flight schedule for the summer and the coming months,” Tzevelekos added.
