COVID-19 Restarting Travel & Tourism in Greece GNTO: Dutch Tour Operators Confirm Interest for Greece by GTP editing team 16 July 2020 written by GTP editing team 16 July 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 The Ambassador of Greece to The Netherlands Nikolas Plexidas, the head of the GNTO office in The Netherlands Eleni Skarveli and Travelution Publisher Michel de Lijster. Following the official opening of the tourism season in Greece, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) held a public relations event in The Hague, Netherlands, to promote Greece’s offerings to Dutch tourism professionals. The main aim of the event was to support Greece’s efforts to restart tourism activity in the country in the post-Covid-19 era. Along with the Embassy of Greece, the GNTO office in The Netherlands held a networking event and walking dinner for tour operators that have included Greece in their summer vacation packages such as TUI, Corendon, Silverjet, Labrys Reizen, Face to Face and Holiday Guru. Journalists also attended the event. During the event, the GNTO fully informed the tour operators and journalists on Greece’s Covid-19 safety measures and health protocols in order for them to pass on the information to the Dutch public and this way possibly boost last-minute bookings – for July and August – and give Dutch travelers ideas for their vacation plans in the autumn. “Tourism professionals confirmed their interest to continue cooperating with Greece in the coming months. Already, TUI has visited Zakynthos, while Corendon is planning a familiarization trip for Dutch journalists and bloggers to Crete,” the organization said. GNTO’s networking dinner was the first event held in The Netherlands after the COVID-19 lockdown.
