The rule, which was taken to slow the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), applies to supermarket workers and customers. “It is not difficult to apply the measures,” Greek Deputy Minister of Development and Investments Nikos Papathanasis said to Skai TV. Underlining that face masks shields against the coronavirus, the deputy minister requested for supermarket staff to observe the measures and to provide masks to customers that do not have one. Those who fail to wear a mask will face a fine of up to 150 euros. “No one wants to impose fines in this crisis,” he added, noting that checks in shops will be frequent. According to the joint ministerial decision, the rule applies from July 18 until July 26.
