“Greece remains a safe country. We are constantly monitoring developments in Greece and abroad. We have taken and will take all necessary measures based on epidemiological data,” Petsas said.

“We urge all Greek citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to epidemiologically burdened areas, such as those in the Balkans.”

A total of 20,331 people entered Greece last week from Albania, 8,049 came from Bulgaria, 16,558 from Northern Macedonia, and 4,325 from Turkey.

Over the July 1-18 period, eight people were tested positive for Covid-19 in 866 cases at the Kakavia border and another 170 out of a total 19,676 tests at Promachonas.

It should be reminded that the government reinstated weekly televised coronavirus briefings by Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias.

Hardalias will be updating on Covid-19 developments every Tuesday.
