According to an announcement by the HBA, a number of transactions are no longer taking place at bank counters and customers are encouraged to use digital channels instead of visiting branches. Until further notice, the following transactions will no longer take place with physical presence in Greek banks: – Cash withdrawals up to 400 euros. Withdrawals up to the amount of 400 euros will be made exclusively at ATMs with the use of debit cards. – Cash deposits up to 1,000 euros. Deposits up to 1,000 euros will be made exclusively at ATMs with the use of debit cards. – Payments of bills for third-parties (public service, energy, water, telephone, pay-TV, insurance, etc.). Such bills can be paid online through web banking or ATMs. It will not be possible to service those transactions by using cash at bank counters. – Updating of bank accounts (transactions and balances). The updating of bank accounts can be carried out through web banking or ATMs. Bank books can no longer be updated at bank branches. “However, if it is still necessary for you to come to a bank branch, please have a protective face mask and observe safety distances,” the HBA said.
