Company updates Works for New Golf Courses on Schedule at Costa Navarino by GTP editing team 7 August 2020 written by GTP editing team 7 August 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 12 The development of two new golf courses at Costa Navarino in Messinia, stretching over 150 hectares at Navarino Hills, is progressing according to schedule, despite the extraordinary conditions caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Designed by two-time Masters Champion and Ryder Cup legend José María Olazábal and overlooking The Bay Course and the historic Bay of Navarino, the new project consists of two 18-hole golf courses, a clubhouse and ancillary facilities. “I am proud to say that works have progressed nicely even during the challenges of the past months. We have already started seeding the grass on the West Course while shaping on the East Course continues in full speed,” Olazábal said during his recent visit to Costa Navarino to oversee the works. The golf courses are expected to open in spring 2022. Navarino Hills – Jose Maria Olazábal on site. Other infrastructure works including electrical installations, rainwater drainage works and an irrigation lake of 15.000 m3, have also been completed. A water reservoir of 428.000 m3 – a key element for the sustainable management of water resources – is under development. Furthermore, the construction of the clubhouse will begin soon. TEMES, the company that runs Costa Navarino, aims to extend its world-class golf offering with Olazábal’s signature golf courses and further enhance Messinia as a unique year-round destination. With the completion of the project, Costa Navarino will offer four golf courses, each with a different concept – from a more easy-to-play course for amateurs and leisure guests to more challenging courses for pros and veterans. The resort also features two luxury hotels, The Westin Resort Costa Navarino and The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort; the private Navarino Residences; a collection of luxury villas for private ownership; Anazoe Spa, a 4,000m2 spa and thalassotherapy centre; and a variety of gastronomy venues, sports, outdoor and cultural activities. Furthermore, at Navarino Bay an ultra-luxury all suite and pool villas resort is currently under construction, alongside an upscale lifestyle resort.
