More specifically, 199 beaches in the Attica Region, including the beaches in Alimos, Nea Makri, Rafina, Anavyssos, Marathonas, Lagonisi, Oropos, Asteras Vouliagmenis, and other popular seaside locations near Athens, such as Agistri, Aegina and Kythera, were found to be within the permissible recommendations and requirements as set out by government legislation, based on the samples taken. This year sanitary and health authorities increased the number of samples collected for microbiological analysis based on visitor numbers. Anavyssos Beach.
