The East Med Yacht Show 2020, a prime yachting event taking place annually in Greece, has been canceled due a surge in coronavirus cases this month.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on the Greek island of Poros during September 18-20. However on Monday, the Hellenic Professional Yacht Owners Association, the Municipality of Poros and the event’s organizing committee announced their decision to cancel the show.

It is reminded that Greek health authorities have eased Covid-19 restrictions on Poros that were imposed earlier in August, after at least 30 people were found to be positive to the coronavirus.

Every year, the East Med Yacht Show features an exhibition with manned motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans and bareboats, as well as pavilions of Greek yacht charter companies and providers of maritime tourism services.

According to the organizers, the event will take place in May 2021.
