Photo Source: Karatzis Group The Karatzis Group of Companies has acquired a majority stake in BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe GmbH, a German company active in the field of agricultural product and industrial packaging. Karatzis is a Crete-based group manufacturing innovative netting materials, that has made select investments in renewable energy and tourism. Among its tourism investment projects is the Nana Princess, a five-star hotel located on the island of Crete. The group acquired a stake in BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe with the aim to further strengthen its industrial and commercial activity in the international packaging sector. Based in Henfenfeld, Germany, the company specializes in the production of state-of-the-art multilayer coating films, and the development of new types of agricultural packaging. Among its products are the Agrastretch, Netfol, Silapac, SilaECO, Power Net and Silapress. Meanwhile, Karatzis has proceeded with the upgrade of its mechanical equipment with the installation of a cutting edge extruder by Costruzioni Meccaniche Luigi Bandera SpA. The investment will add 4,500 tons of products to the existing capacity of BSK & Lakufol Kunststoffe, on an annual basis.
