Covid-19 Impact on tourism economy Olympic Yacht Show 2020 Postponed Due to Covid-19 by GTP editing team 11 September 2020 written by GTP editing team 11 September 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 The Olympic Yacht Show 2020 has been postponed due to the emergency measures undertaken by the Greek government to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the event’s organizer Ondeck Events recently announced. “We have reached this difficult decision, following the recent preventive measures for the protection of public health,” Ondeck Media Director Gerasimos Gerolymatos said. The show was scheduled to take place in Lavrio, Attica, during October 1-4. According to the organizer, the Covid-19 travel measures have put significant restrictions on participants and visitors, and it is highly probable that they will not be able to travel to Greece for the event. “We have worked hard for more than a year for the Olympic Yacht Show. We have partnered with specialized companies in order to cover the different aspects of this event including location study, communication and promotion in Greece and abroad, signage, legal and techno-economic study and so on. During the course of this endeavour, countless meetings have taken place and thousands of man-hours have been invested in preparations,” Gerolymatos said. Moreover, he added that the floating dock is ready to welcome 85 yachts. “This investment in time and finances remains active. I would like to thank all of the companies for confirming their participation on the new dates, that will be announced in due course,” he added. For updates visit www.olympicyachtshow.gr.
