The running events of Run Greece 2020, scheduled to take place in seven Greek cities in September and October, have been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to an announcement by the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS), organizer of Run Greece, the health committee of the General Secretariat of Sports has put a ban on running events with more than 100 participants and employees taking place outside a stadium.

The Run Greece 2020 events were scheduled to take place in Alexandroupolis, Patra, Kastoria, Ioannina, Larissa, Rhodes and Heraklion.

“This is a sad decision for the entire running community of Greece and all the bodies involved, who were in the process of preparing these events. However, the protection of public health is our first priority,” SEGAS said.

Runners who have registered for the 2020 Run Greece races will soon receive more information on how to transfer their registration for the 2021 events or cancel their participation and receive a refund.
