A member of the Lufthansa Group, the airline said in an announcement that “SWISS is among the few airlines that had not stopped flights to and from Greece throughout the pandemic”. Together with its sister company Edelweiss Air, SWISS continues to connect Greece with a number of destinations around the world. The airline offers 18 weekly flights to and from Athens, six weekly flights to and from Thessaloniki and 34 flights a week departing from Zurich and Geneva to 10 popular destinations including Mykonos, Santorini, Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, Kalamata, Samos and Kos. Athens, Greece “Global aviation has faced many challenges in the first six months of the year, with SWISS being no exception. We have taken all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of our passengers,” said Konstantinos Tzevelekos, Lufthansa Group general manager sales for Greece and Cyprus. Meanwhile, responding to the needs of travelers for flexibility, SWISS has changed the structure of its fares until the end of December, offering passengers the opportunity to change the date or/and the destination, free of charge. The new regulation applies worldwide to all new ticket reservations on short, medium and long distance routes. In addition, SWISS has restricted the exceptions from the obligation to wear a mask during flights. An exemption is now possible only if passengers present a medical certificate on a form provided by the airline, and a negative coronavirus test.
