Wyndham Hotels & Resorts on Wednesday announced that it has appointed four regional directors to strengthen its leadership team across Europe.

The new recruitments are part of the company’s strategy to provide more support to hoteliers by placing regional executives closer to the local markets, where its hotels operate, in Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (EMEA).

The four regional directors are Vassilis Themelidis, responsible for south and east Europe – a region that includes Greece; Jackie Brown, responsible for north and west Europe; Sascha Dalig, responsible for central Europe; and Mehmet Ferman Dogan, responsible for Turkey. The announcement follows the 2019 appointments of Michel Augier, as regional director for Middle East and Africa and Nikhil Sharma, as regional director for Eurasia.

As underlined in an announcement, the common goal of the newly appointed executives will be to supervise operations in their respective region, promote key hotel support programs to partners and enhance the brand’s recognition.

According to Dimitris Manikis, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ president for Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, each of the new executives brings a wealth of sector experience and individual skills that complements the company’s existing talented teams.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jackie, Sascha, Vassilis and Mehmet Ferman to Wyndham… Their leadership and focus on engagement will be instrumental in delivering our EMEA strategy to continue to drive consistency, add value and place our regional resources closer to our hotels partners,” Manikis said.

The regional director for south and east Europe, Vassilis Themelidis, will be based in Greece, a key growth market for Wyndham.

An experienced executive in the tourism market, Vassilis will oversee a portfolio of more than 50 hotels in Greece, Italy, Romania, Russia and other neighboring countries.

Vassilis has more than 20 years of experience in the international Holiday Exchange provider RCI, which was in the same group of companies as Wyndham, and served in a variety of executive positions. He recently served as regional director for central and east Europe and the Middle East.

Commenting on his new role, Vassilis said that south and east Europe includes some of the most exciting destinations on the continent, where Wyndham sees great potential.

“I am delighted to join the Wyndham family, a company that combines an exciting portfolio of brands and very talented partners and teams… My aim will be to continue to add value to the work of our partner-hoteliers in my region,” he said.

In recent years, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened nine hotels in different destinations in Greece, introducing different brands to the Greek market, including Wyndham, Wyndham Grand, Ramada and Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham.
