Covid-19 Government measures Covid-19 Measures in Greece Now Adjusted to Level of Risk in Areas by GTP editing team 12 October 2020 written by GTP editing team 12 October 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 23 UPDATE: Citizens in all areas that appear as high risk (orange and red) must: – wear masks everywhere in public (indoors and outdoors) – stay indoors between 12:30am and 5:00 am (late night curfew) A number of measures previously announced in Greece to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) will have some changes as of October 12, following the launch of the country’s new risk-assessment map on Friday. The new health safety map lists the safety restrictions in all 74 Greek regional units, depending on the degree of risk that is indicated by one of four levels (traffic light color-coded): Level 1 – Green – Low risk Level 2 – Yellow – Moderate risk Level 3 – Orange – High risk Level 4 – Red – Very high risk The risk levels are based upon the number of new daily cases per 100,000 people. At the time of presenting the map, 27 Greek regional units were at the green level, 25 at the yellow level and 22 at the orange level. More specifically: Level 1 (green): Andros, Arcadia, Arta, Drama, Evros, Evritania, Ilia, Thassos, Thesprotia, Ithaki, Ikaria, Kavala, Kalymnos, Karpathos-Kasos, Kefallonia, Lassithi, Lefkada, Lemnos, Messinia, Milos, Rethymno, Serres, Sporades, Syros, Tinos, Fokida, Chania. Level 2 (yellow): Etoloakarnania, Argolida, Viotia, Grevena, Evia, Imathia, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Kilkis, Corinth, Kos, Laconia, Larissa, Magnesia, Naxos, Xanthi, Paros, Pieria, Preveza, Rodopi, Rhodes, Fthiotida, Florina, Chalkidiki, Chios. Level 3 (orange): East Attica, Achaia, North Sector of Athens, West Attica, West Sector of Athens, Zakynthos, Heraklion, Thira (Santorini), Ioannina, Karditsa, Kastoria, Kea-Kythnos, Central Sector of Athens, Kozani, Lesvos, Mykonos, Islands of Attica, South Sector of Athens, Piraeus, Pella, Samos, Trikala. No regional unit in Greece is at Level 4 / red (very high risk). It is noted that mask wearing and social distancing measures are the same for all regional units regardless of color level. Masks are mandatory for all when in a working area of the public and private sector and in crowded outdoor spaces. Measures Following are some of the changes in measures that have been in force until now: Commute/travel – Capacity restrictions for all means of public transport, ferries, taxis and private cars: It is reminded that masks are mandatory on all means of public transport, on ferries and in taxis. Level 1 (green) Public transport: 65 percent capacity Ferries: 80 percent capacity Level 2 (yellow) Public transport: 50 percent capacity (masks must also be worn at bus, train and stam stops) Ferries: 65 percent capacity Taxis: Only three passengers are allowed (driver not included) Level 3 (orange) Public transport: 50 percent capacity (masks must also be worn at bus, train and tram stops) Ferries: 50 percent capacity Taxis: Only two passengers are allowed (driver not included) Private cars: Only 4 people are allowed per private car (driver included) Level 4 (red) Public transport: 50 percent capacity (masks must also be worn at bus, train and tram stops) Ferries: No travel allowed out of the regional unit. Taxis: Only one passenger is allowed Private cars: Only 3 people are allowed per private car (driver included) All restaurants, bars and cafes in Greece have a curfew and capacity/seating restrictions: Level 1 (green) Curfew: 1am Capacity: 80 percent Seating: 6 people are allowed at the same table Level 2 (yellow) Curfew: 12:30am Capacity: 65 percent Seating: 6 people are allowed at the same table Level 3 (orange) Curfew: 12 midnight Capacity: 50 percent Seating: 4 people are allowed at the same table Level 4 (red) Suspension of operations of all restaurants, bars and cafes. A limit has been set to the number of people allowed at outdoor gatherings: Level 1 (green) – 100 people Level 2 (yellow) – 50 people Level 3 (orange) – 9 people Level 4 (reds) – Outdoor gatherings are banned. A limit has been set to the number of people allowed at indoor conferences: Level 1 (green) – 1 person per 5 sq.m., up to 200 seats are allowed to be filled Level 2 (yellow) – 1 person per 10 sq.m. at least, up to 100 seats are allowed to be filled Level 3 (orange) – 1 person per 15 sq.m. at least, up to 50 seats are allowed to be filled (exhibitions are suspended) Level 4 (red) – All conferences are suspended. Rules for archaeological sites and museums: Level 1 (green) Archaeological sites, open (open-air) museums: – 1.5 meter distance must be kept between persons – Masks must be worn by tourist guides and employees Museums – 2 meters distance must be kept between persons – 1 person per 10 sq.m. – Group tours are allowed with up to 20 people – Everyone must wear a mask Level 2 (yellow) Archaeological sites, open (open-air) museums: – 1.5 meter distance must be kept between persons – Masks must be worn by tourist guides and employees Museums: – 2 meters distance must be kept between persons – 1 person per 15 sq.m. – Group tours are allowed with up to 10 people – Everyone must wear a mask Level 3 (orange) Archaeological sites, open (open-air) museums: – 1.5 meter distance must be kept between persons – Everyone must wear a mask Museums: – 2 meters distance must be kept between persons – 1 person per 20 sq.m. – Group tours are not allowed to take place – Everyone must wear a mask Level 4 (red) – All archaeological sites and museums will remain closed. Theaters, cinemas and concerts are allowed to operate under the following capacity: Level 1 (green) – 65 percent capacity Level 2 (yellow) – 50 percent capacity Level 3 (orange) – 30 percent capacity Level 4 (red) – Only virtual performances will be allowed. All cinemas will remain closed.
