The Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX). on Thursday honored three Greek hoteliers for their long-term contribution to entrepreneurship. Known throughout the Greek hotel sector for their dedication to protecting the rights and interests of hoteliers, Aristotelis Thomopoulos (Thessaloniki), Sakellarios Soulounias (Rhodes) and Constantinos Leventis (Magnesia) received honorary plaques during the federation’s general assembly in Thessaloniki. During the general assembly, the main topic discussed was the troubles of the sector due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. “I believe that the trade union representation of the sector gives the right to each of you to walk with your head held high,” the federation’s president, Grigoris Tasios, said during his speech. “Hoteliers are not part of the problem, but are struggling for solutions. Effective, modern, efficient solutions that will allow them to continue their valuable offer in the country,” he added. The Hellenic Hoteliers Federation is now in the process of electing a new Board of Directors. The new Board is expected to be announced on Thursday night. Founded in 1949, the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (known as POX in Greek) is an employers’ organization and represents hotel enterprises that operate in Greece. POX undertakes initiatives and actions to protect the interests of the country’s hotel enterprises that constantly face a changing environment.
