Kouzouni Greece’s alternative tourism forms and destinations were presented to leading tour operators and media representatives of the Swedish market, during an event that took place recently in Stockholm by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). The head of GNTO’s office in Scandinavia Pavlos Mourmas presented the thematic tourism products available in Central Greece and Western Macedonia, as well as the precaution measures and health protocols undertaken by Greek authorities to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and ensure the safety of residents and visitors. By promoting thematic tourism, “Greece aims to emerge as an ideal safe destination throughout the year,” the GNTO said in an announcement. The event was attended by representatives of travel agencies Tema Resor, TravelHouse, Apollo, Ticket Resor, TUI and Ving; journalists from RES Travel Magazine, Båtliv Magazine, First Class Magazine and Vagabond Magazine; and the authors of blogs Pellasinspiration and Mittgrekland. Also present were Greek TV presenter Alexandra Paschalidou, popular Swedish singer Jill Johnson and celebrity manager Maria Ljungen from Freebird Entertainment. After the event, Mourmas held private meetings with tour operators and analyzed the prospects of Greek tourism for 2021. He also discussed with journalists on the possibility of organizing familiarization trips to Greece in the near future.
