AEGEAN on Tuesday temporarily suspended its domestic and international flights to and from Thessaloniki International Airport “Makedonia”.

“Given the extraordinary circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic and following the newly adapted measures for the restriction of unnecessary movements in Thessaloniki, AEGEAN is obliged to proceed with the temporary suspension of its domestic and international network flights to and from Thessaloniki International Airport as of November 3 and up until November 17,” the airline company said in an announcement.

Thessaloniki is in a 14-day local lockdown due to a sharp rise in coronavirus cases.

AEGEAN’s announcement follows the temporary ban on flights to and from Thessaloniki, issued by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) on Monday.

All passengers that hold tickets with a travel date within the November 3-17 period will be notified for their options either directly from the airline through a personalized message or from their travel agent.

Passengers are also advised to visit AEGEAN’s official website for further information.
