Under the name, “Pray for Samos”, the website was created a few days after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit the Aeagean sea north of Samos, severely affecting the Greek island and the coastal town of Izmir in Turkey. “From the very first moment, the response and interest we received exceeded all expectations,” the municipality said in an announcement. In efforts to coordinate donations and sponsorships, the municipality collaborated with iArk Digital Agency and Dimitris Vassilios to create “Pray for Samos” at www.prayforsamos.gr.
