The island will be further enhanced as a tourism destination, as it will attract more airlines and flights, providing thousands of visitors with an upgraded passenger experience,” the municipality said. The municipality expects the upgraded airport to attract new investment for sustainable development on the island. New jobs are also expected to be created both during works and after the airport’s completion. Moreover, residents of Paros will have direct access to health and civil services on mainland Greece.
