The hotel’s upgrade process started four years ago with an ambitious renovation project that included its rooms and bathrooms. The project initially saw the creation of two new room types: the double room with a garden view and the junior suite. Vigla Hotel’s revamp was completed in April 2020 following the renovation of all rooms as well as the launch of another new room type: the family room with a connecting door that provides families or large groups of friends with a comfortable stay. “We are very excited for completing the renovation of our rooms. The hotel’s upgrade to a four-star unit is a reward to our efforts,” the hotel’s managing director, Despina Giannakopoulou, said. She underlines that although the hotel has taken a new form, it still maintains its authenticity. “Our vision is to promote Greek hospitality on the island of Amorgos,” Giannakopoulou said. Vigla Hotel has also upgraded its services with the addition of new options for guests, including the online arrival service and the in-room breakfast experience with a digital menu. Moreover, an upgrade to the hotel’s restaurant is also in process. During the last two years, the hotel has made a number of changes to its breakfast buffet by upgrading its appearance and adding new, fresh, homemade selections with products from its garden. Vigla Hotel is located in the village of Tholaria on Amorgos. Apart from its upgraded rooms and services, it offers safe accommodation in line with the latest guidelines of the World Health Organization and the health protocols announced by Greek authorities in the Covid-19 era.
