ADEDY is protesting a draft law of the Labor Ministry that includes regulations on working hours, overtime, industrial action and trade unionism. Rail Transport Company STASY is participating in the strike, which means the Athens metro and the ISAP railway will not be running for 24 hours. The tram will be in service only from the beginning off shift until 6pm as staff will hold a work stoppage from that time and until the end of shift. Ferry travel is also expected to be disrupted on Thursday as five seamen’s unions are joining the 24-hour strike. The strike will run from 00:01 on Thursday until midnight. Those planning to travel by ferry are advised to contact their travel agents for details. Air travel in Greece will operate normally as the unions representing air traffic controllers, electronic security engineers and aeronautical telecommunication officers decided to call off their strike action.
