Operating in a renovated space within the main building of KYADA on 35, Pireos Street, the new clinic includes a prescription unit for medication and offers healthcare services to people that belong to vulnerable groups. The clinic is equipped with all the necessary medical devices such as oxygen concentrator, cardiograph, defibrillator, nebulizers, otoscope, suction machines, oximeters, sphygmomanometers, glucose meters and more. In addition, for the first time, it provides KYADA beneficiaries with free prescriptions for medicine related to the medical services offered by the doctors available (pulmonologist, surgeon and psychiatrist). “This will offer additional relief to people in need, at a time when Greece’s health system is significantly burdened by the [coronavirus] pandemic,” the municipality said in an announcement. The medical facility of the city’s Municipal Homeless Center on 3, Acharnon street also remains in operation. The municipality’s expanding network of healthcare services for vulnerable groups is supported by the Panhellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (PEF), which has made significant donations of medical equipment, consumables and office furniture. Donations to the new social clinic have also been made by the Whiskey Forum (consumables, medical devices, examination beds) and the “Lions Club of Kifissia Anne Sullivan” that has donated a three-channel electrocardiography device. The social clinic of KYADA accepts patients with a telephone appointment at 210-5246515 (ext. 3).
