Hotel Grande Bretagne Lights Up Christmas Tree, Extends Holiday Greetings – Video

The Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens this week lit up its majestic Christmas tree in its lobby, this time however without the presence of its friends and associates due to Covid-19 safety measures.

“The stunning Christmas tree stands glowing again within the overwhelming Christmas spirit of Hotel Grande Bretagne,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

A unique festive scene has been created in the lobby of the historic hotel with impressive Christmas decorations all around, glittering garlands, intricate ornaments and over 20,000 lights.

On occasion of the upcoming holiday season, Hotel Grande Bretagne General Manager Hom Parviz and Director of Public Relations Christine Papathanassiou are sending a warm welcome to all right in front of the Christmas tree:

Special fund raising campaign

Moreover, the hotel’s management said that along with the lighting of its Christmas tree it was also launching its traditional fund raising campaign.

“Although this time it might have been impossible to gather all dear guests around the tree listening to the Christmas carols performance by the children’s choir, the lighting ceremony retained its charitable purpose whatsoever,” management added.

Being part of a socially responsible company, Hotel Grande Bretagne continues its special fund raising campaign and this year is supporting the area of Serres, which has been adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

From December 1 and for seven months, 1.50 euros will be added to each receipt issued at the hotel’s restaurants with the customers’ consent, which will be donated to support the Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Serres in order to contribute to their needs for medical equipment.
