Theoharis held talks with representatives from Emirates, Hainan Airlines, Wizz Air, KLM, and Austrian Airlines, among others, who confirmed that Greece was one of the preferred Mediterranean destinations in 2021. Referring to the importance of restoring connectivity among countries and markets, Theoharis said Greece was ready to put into practice all the valuable experience it had gained, as well as its bolstered reputation, after opening safely and effectively during the pandemic and managing tourism flows despite the unprecedented circumstances worldwide. The goal, he said, is for Greece to stand out as one of the world’s leading destinations in terms of safety in 2021. Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis.
