Launched by Alberto Cotrona, founder of MYTH euromed and Paola Giovanettoni, the founder of My Greek Salad, the project is a series of live digital events that aim to “build a bridge” between Italy and Greece and present new models for safe, sustainable and authentic travel experiences for Italians “in love” with the neighboring country. “Greece is a state of mind that Italians – in these times of uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic – wish to experience, even in a digital way 365 days a year,” the founders of #AgapiMouGrecia said. Translated as “Greece, my love” in English, #AgapiMouGrecia is addressed not only to travelers who already know Greece and want to discover new destinations and experiences, but also to those who think of visiting the country for the first time. The first episode of #AgapiMouGrecia was broadcast in late November under the theme “Greece 2021: Unknown Destinations and Safety” and included Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) President Angela Gerekou as its special guest. During the live discussion, Gerekou presented the pillars that will continue to support Greek tourism in 2021: health and safety, digitization and sustainability. The GNTO’s president also stresed the importance of Greek-Italian relations. The first epidode of #AgapiMouGrecia had 25,000 views on facebook and a reach of 42,000 people. The live shows are broadcast in Italian and hosted by Paola and Alberto on the digital channels of My Greek Salad and MedTaste with the contribution of MYTH euromed. Following episodes of #AgapiMouGrecia will focus on lesser known destinations, agrotourism, sustainable tourism, real estate opportunities for senior travelers in Italy, cultural tourism and city break destinations, among others. Once travel restrictions ease, #AgapiMouGrecia will gradually change form and once the crisis is over, is schedules to broadcast live shows straight from Greece.
