Photo source: @Visit Greece The UNESCO World Heritage site of Meteora in central Greece, is included on CNN Travel’s list of the Top 21 tourism destinations travelers should visit in 2021. More specifically, the online edition of CNN Travel presents 21 destinations for travelers to visit when the coronavirus pandemic subsides and tourism reopens. “Meteora’s monasteries are among Greece’s many showstopping wonders. And in 2021, Greece will have more reason than most to celebrate – it’s marking its 200th birthday as an independent, modern nation,” CNN Travel says. Meteora is located near the town of Kalambaka in Thessaly, central Greece. It is a rock formation hosting a large number of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, built on top of the hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the area. As a monument of outstanding cultural and natural importance, the Meteora site, in 1988 was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Kalambaka town CNN Travel’s list also encourages travelers to visit the Antarctica, Canada, the Disney Parks in Florida, Dubai, Egypt (the Pyramides), France, Ghana, Grenada, Hawaii, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Mexico, New Zealand, New York, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Uruguay.
