According to an announcement, the two organizations will sign a memorandum of cooperation during an online event on January 28, in the presence of Enterprise Greece President and Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Smyrlis, Elitour President and Attica Governor George Patoulis and Enterprise Greece CEO George Filiopoulos. “Greece has a number of high-level specialized medical experts and adequate infrastructure in the health and tourism sectors. Elitour will act as an intermediate partner looking to network Greek and foreign organizations,” the announcement said. “The development of health tourism [in Greece] will attract investments, which will contribute in the medium term, in the efforts to maintain a good level of health services for citizens and visitors as well as to limit brain drain in the Greek scientific sector.” Enterprise Greece is a state-run agency responsible for the implementation of the country’s strategy for the promotion of exports and investments. Elitour is an Athens-based non-governmental organization promoting health tourism in Greece, through its cooperation with respective bodies abroad.
