As demand for outdoor activities is on the rise, the new campaign looks to respond to the needs of international travelers, who are changing habits and reconsidering their options in the new environment created by the coronavirus pandemic. According to Marketing Greece, the travelers’ new habits also reveal their need to feel safe and maintain social distancing measures while claiming more “space” for themselves and others. “They re-evaluate their connection with nature and the positive emotions that emerge including happiness, joy and freedom,” the marketing agency said in an announcement. Marketing Greece also sees a growing interest for adventure travel, as well as experiences that promote local features. Outdoor activities can satisfy the desires of travelers, a fact that is confirmed by both international trends and feedback from Greek providers of outdoor activities that responded to the agency’s questionnaire. Marketing Greece’s Outdoor Activities campaign invites international travelers to an “outdoor festival of activities and relaxation”. The campaign’s “Greece | A passion for the great outdoors” video promotes a great number of activities offered in Greece year round and reveals the magnificent nature of its islands, mountains and mainland. To further promote the campaign, the company has designed a dedicated webpage (www.discovergreece.com/outdoor-activities-greece) that gives travelers a tour of Greek outdoor activities through original audiovisual material, experience articles, “best of” lists and cover stories. The website’s UGC Gallery is also enriched with a “call to action” button leading users to the websites of outdoor activities providers.
