Photo source: Travel Trade Athens The Municipality of Athens during April 19-20 will hold the 7th Travel Trade Athens 2021 event to promote the Greek capital and drive growth in the tourism sector. “Our aim is to promote the city’s tourism product in the best possible way to representatives of traditional and emerging source tourism markets during this very difficult period for the sector’s businesses that have been impacted by the health crisis,” the municipality of Athens said in an announcement. The event will be held for the first time in a hybrid form, with all the meetings between participants taking place online. “Representatives of Athenian tourism businesses will have the chance to develop new collaborations with top professionals of the international market, and participate in networking events,” the announcement said. A total of 60 representatives of foreign tourism agencies and enterprises, conference and events organizers, and journalists will participate in Travel Trade Athens either virtually or in person – if they choose to travel to Athens and participate in fam trips and tours through programs especially adjusted to the Covid-19 health protocols. In addition, 90 representatives of Athenian businesses (suppliers) will have the opportunity to participate in special education seminars with executives of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI). The 7th Travel Trade Athens 2021 will include: A three-day trip to Athens for foreign professionals with tours and visits to sites of interest Scheduled meetings for participants with a guaranteed minimum number of online appointments Networking opportunities through parallel events. Travel Trade Athens 2018 The Travel Trade Athens event has so far hosted over 500 professionals from 35 counties and more than 15,000 B2B meetings. This year, the organizers anticipate to achieve the highest possible number of business deals. Registration is open at www.traveltradeathens.gr.
