Titled “Monitoring Sentiment for Domestic and Intra-European Travel – Wave 4”, ETC’s monthly report features data collected in December 2020. According to its main findings, Greece ranks fourth with 6.1 percent after Spain in the top spot with 9.8 percent, Italy in second with 8.2 percent and France in third position with 6.3 percent. Germany is in fifth spot with 5.4 percent. Source: ETC The report also showed that Europeans are eager to travel in the second quarter of 2021 as Covid-19 vaccines are rolled out. In fact, the number of Europeans planning to travel in the next six months reached 52 percent in December 2020. Leisure is the primary purpose for almost 63 percent of the surveyed Europeans planning to travel in the short-term. Business travel accounts for 9 percent of respondents. Meanwhile, strict health and safety protocols seem to build trust and peace of mind for travelers, and make travel more enjoyable. Two out of three Europeans feel much safer and relaxed to enjoy their trip when strict health and safety protocols are in place.
