Covid-19 Guidance on Travel-Related Issues Germany Puts Western Greece and Attica on List of Covid-19 ‘Risk Areas’ by GTP editing team 15 February 2021 written by GTP editing team 15 February 2021 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 Photo source: @berlinairport Germany’s Federal Foreign Office recently added Western Greece and Attica to its “risk areas” list due to an increase in coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the two Greek regions. According to Germany’s rules for inbound travel, travellers who have stayed in a “risk area” during the last ten days before entry to Germany must immediately quarantine themselves for 10 days. Other Greek regions on the list include Central Macedonia and Central Greece. Germany’s updated travel advice also mentions that the regions of Western Macedonia and Thessaly are no longer considered risk areas. Before arriving in Germany travelers must log on and register at https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de. Those returning to Germany from a “risk area” will be obliged to self isolate for 10 days but can shorten the quarantine period by a negative test. After five days of quarantine at the earliest, travelers can be tested for Covid-19 in order to end the self isolation obligation (if they have a negative test result). The classification of a destination as a risk area is based on a joint analysis and decision by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Health, Foreign Office and Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
