Laskaridis Charitable Foundation and non-profit organization The People’s Trust have launched a new funding program to support environmentally responsible small enterprises of the Cyclades islands. Titled “Trust the Change: A new support program for environmentally responsible enterprises”, the scheme aims to support small businesses and local economies in a sustainable manner. The program is part of the foundation’s SeaChange Greek Islands project, which is being implemented on 10 Cycladic islands. The “Trust the Change” program will offer financial aid of up to 5,000 euros to 20 businesses that will be selected from the 10 Cycladic islands participating in the SeaChange program, namely Serifos, Sikinos, Amorgos, Folegandros, Kimolos, Anafi, Donoussa, Schinoussa, Iraklia and Koufonisia. Interested enterprises can submit a brief business plan here until February 28. Their application will be evaluated based on financial data and the environmental footprint of their investment. The eligible enterprises will be announced by the end of March. Since 2018, the SeaChange Greek Islands program has been focusing on the environmental change of the Cyclades islands through targeted actions including beach cleanup operations, educational and awareness schemes. Established in 2016, The People’s Trust is a non-profit organization supporting entrepreneurship and employment.
