More specifically, the government will cover the cost of rapid tests for enterprises with more than 20 employees. Under the program, staff can be tested twice a month after they fill in the “free test for Covid-19” application form online here. Participants will need to have a Greek tax number (AFM). Once employer verification is complete, workers will have to complete the form with their contact info. A date, time, and testing center address will be sent via text message (SMS). Note: employees will be required to present the SMS on arrival at the testing station as well as AMKA (social security) number or passport. The program is a joint initiative of the labor and digital governance ministries in collaboration with the National Public Health Organization (EODY). The SMS message can be used to verify reason of movement on the day of the appointment. Employees are also allowed a three-hour leave of absence for Covid-19 testing purposes. The labor ministry is urging all employees to participate in the program and on employers to raise awareness and to encourage their staff to get tested. People working for companies with under 20 employees, have access to Covid testing here.
