Greece’s archaeological sites re-opened on Monday after the government decided to ease lockdown measures on Friday to address Covid-19 fatigue. Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, who inspected the Acropolis site on Sunday to ensure all health protocols were in place, said Greece’s archeological sites will give visitors the opportunity to “let off steam” after many months of lockdown and offer a chance for learning and recreation. Groups of three or families can visit archaeological sites within their municipality. Mask-wearing and social distancing are mandatory. Access to sites is only allowed on foot or by bicycle. Besides the archaeological sites, authorities gave the green light to beauty salons and to hobby fishing activities but refrained from opening retail. Inter-municipality access to beauty salons is allowed by appointment only and by sending a text message (number 6 option) to 13033. Parks are also open to groups of no more than three people or to families only accessible on foot or by bicycle. The National Gardens in Athens.
